The “Right” Way to Manage a Business

Many small business owners start off enthusiastically and with good reason— they are well trained in their professions—florist, dentist, architect, electrician, skin care professional, etc.— and are certain in their ability to produce a good product or service despite the competition. This attitude is actually key to getting an enterprise off the ground and in keeping it going.  But more often than not, things run aground when the “realities” of running a business hit: hiring good people, handling the legal requirements, attracting new customers, keeping up with the bills, keeping afloat in a competitive market—to name just a few. Often the dream doesn’t look quite so bright after a few months of handling the day-to-day operations, and more importantly—it just isn’t as FUN as it was supposed to be. What went wrong?

These business owners have degrees and internships and maybe even practical experience in their professions—Yet they have little or no training in how to actually run a business!  Just as there is a “right” way to wire an electrical socket or clean teeth, there is also a “right” way to manage a business!

What do we mean by “right” way to manage?  We mean that way of organizing processes and doing things which we know gets the wanted results— in other words, it’s proven to work. Just as there is a correct technical way to saddle up a horse and get him to do what you want him to do, for example, there is a technical correct way to hire people, to sell and close sales, to market and promote, to handle finances, and even to be an executive and manage others.

What would it mean for you and your business to have the same degree of management know-how as you enjoy in your chosen profession?  How would things change if you or your office could be as good at hiring, organizing, promoting, selling, etc. as you are at delivering your products and services?

It is our experience that if you could do these things well, it would give you an Advantage in moving Upward in your market—that is our mission.
